All You Need To Know
Do I need a license to rent a boat?
No licence is required for our licence-free boats. Before departure, our experienced team will provide a full safety briefing and explain the navigation area, how to operate the boat, including steering and anchoring. This ensures you feel confident and safe before setting off to sea.
Can we cruise to Navagio (Shipwreck Beach) or around the island on our own?
For safety reasons we don't allow anybody to self-drive a boat to Navagio (Shipwreck Beach) or around the whole island without a captain on board. The weather around the West coast gets really bad at times and the phone signal is poor around that area, so we have decided to offer this cruises only accompanied by an experienced captain. Self drive boats are also not equipped for such long distances.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, card payments, and bank transfers (deposit only where applicable).
Is it safe to go out in changing sea conditions?
We continuously monitor sea conditions. If conditions become unsafe, we will not proceed with the rental. Safety always takes priority over the schedule.
Do we have insurance while on board?
In all of our private tours where you are accompanied by a captain you will be fully insured! All of our boats are in exceptional condition and very well maintained with regular safety checks. Our captains are well trained, experienced and have excellent local knowledge.
Please note that if you choose to rent a boat and self-drive it, our insurance will not fully cover you, so you will be given a 3rd party insurance instead!
Self-drive rentals are covered only for damage or injury caused to other people, boats, or property. This means that if you are responsible for an accident, the insurance will cover the “third party” involved, but it does not cover damage to the rented boat itself or any personal belongings onboard.
This is in accordance with maritime regulations for self-drive vessels!
Can I cancel my trip?
If you need to cancel your booked trip, our cancellation policy is as follows:
• When notifying us up to 7 days in advance, you will be entitled to a full refund of your deposit.
• If notifying us anytime less than 7 days in advance, we unfortunately will not be able to refund your deposit.
If possible, we will try to reschedule your excursion to a time and date which better suits you.
Where are the boats docked?
Our boats are docked at Agios Sostis Harbour, conveniently located near Cameo Island in Zakynthos
Can I bring food or drinks onboard?
Yes. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages onboard for the duration of the trip. An icebox is available on board for your convenience to keep items cool. Please note that ice is not included.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your safety is our highest priority. If weather conditions are not suitable for sailing, we will either reschedule your booking or offer an alternative route. If neither option is possible, a full refund will be provided.
Is the transport included in the price?
Transport is not included in any prices quoted, but we may be able to offer transfers in some cases. Please contact a member of our team for information.
How many people can each boat take?
Each boat has a maximum passenger capacity for safety and comfort. Please check your selected boat model or contact us to confirm suitability for your group.
Are life jackets and safety equipment provided?
Yes. All boats are fully equipped with life jackets, first aid kits, and mandatory safety equipment.
Can I choose my route or stops?
Yes, all private tours are flexible and can be tailored to your preferences, weather conditions, and skipper recommendations.
What time should I arrive?
We recommend arriving:
• Self-drive rentals: 15–20 minutes before departure for check-in, safety briefing, and preparation
• Private boat tours with skipper: 10 minutes before departure for boarding and departure procedures
This ensures a smooth and timely start to your experience.
What identification is required for boat rental or boat tours?
For all bookings, guests must present a valid passport or national ID card prior to departure. Driving licences are not accepted. This is a mandatory requirement in accordance with maritime safety and insurance regulations.
Do you offer private boat tours with a skipper?
Yes. We offer private skippered boat tours in Zakynthos for guests who prefer a fully guided, stress-free experience. Our professional skippers ensure both safety and an enjoyable itinerary tailored to your preferences.
Why should I choose a skipper?
A skipper allows you to relax completely while enjoying hidden beaches, caves, and the best swimming spots. It is the safest and most comfortable way to explore more remote areas of Zakynthos.
Are children allowed on board?
Yes, children are welcome on all our boats. We recommend informing us in advance if any toddlers will be on board so we can ensure the appropriate safety arrangements.
Are turtle sightings guaranteed?
Turtles are wild animals in their natural habitat, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. However, we operate in known areas where they are frequently observed.
Are your boats regularly maintained?
Yes, all boats are regularly inspected, maintained, and fully equipped with required safety equipment to ensure a safe and reliable experience.
Can I customise my private boat trip?
Yes, private boat trips are flexible and can be tailored to your preferences within safe navigation limits. If a specific itinerary has been agreed at the time of reservation, customisation is possible only within the agreed navigation area and remains subject to skipper recommendations based on weather and sea conditions.
How can I contact you before my trip?
You can contact us via WhatsApp, phone, or email. We recommend WhatsApp for faster response, especially during the high season.
Should I bring anything with me?
We recommend bringing sunscreen, swimwear, towels, sunglasses, and a hat. Depending on the trip, you may also bring snacks and drinks onboard.
Do I need to pay a deposit to confirm my booking?
Yes, a deposit is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is paid before departure unless otherwise agreed at the time of booking. Your booking is only confirmed once the deposit has been received.
Is fuel included in the rental price?
For all self drive boats the fuel is not included in the rental price unless agreed otherwise. The boat is provided with a full tank at departure. Any fuel used during the trip will be charged accordingly based on consumption. Fuel tank capacity is 30 litres.
For all private tours with skipper fuel is included in the price.
What happens if I am late for my booking?
We recommend arriving on time to ensure a smooth departure. Late arrivals may result in a reduced rental duration, as the boat is reserved exclusively for your booking. Significant delays without prior notice may be treated as a no-show in accordance with our policy.
